I served as a marine fisheries Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone from 1983-1986. I then worked at Peace Corps Washington from 1987-1989 in the North Africa, Near East, Asia, and Pacific Region office as the Desk Officer for the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, the Comoros programs. Then became the Training Officer for the NANEAP Region and as the Training Officer for the opening of the Peace Corps Program in Vladivostok from 1990-1992.
After leaving Peace Corps, I returned to Massachusetts and worked as the Director of Adult Education and Transitions Program for Bunker Hill Community College (1995-2019). The program offered free classes in English, General Education Diploma, and college transitions skills for adult immigrants.
I am now retired and serving on the Human Rights Commission, Gloucester, Massachusetts.
